SEAS offers all students in grades four, five, and six the opportunity to participate in band. Mr. Tedd Chopp, the band instructor at John XXIII, offers individual lessons each week at the SEAS intermediate building. In addition, all band students meet once a week for a group rehearsal after school at Cathedral High School with other fourth through sixth grade students from area parochial schools.

The students perform in two concerts each year, a Christmas and Spring Concert, in the auditorium at Cathedral High School. During the spring concert, Mr. Chopp includes a jazz band for those second and third year students who are interested. The SEAS band students will also perform a Christmas and Spring concert for their fellow students in the gym at the SEAS intermediate school.
