Along with all the many wonderful opportunities St. Elizabeth Ann Seton has to offer, is orchestra. Orchestra is the putting together of the violin, viola, cello and bass into a performing group.
Mrs. Rhonda Johnson has been teaching string instruments to our students for the past 14 years. Students receive one small group lesson at the school and one large group rehearsal each week. Students are grouped according to grade, ability level, and instrument for lessons. There are two orchestaras; Elementary Orchestra-grades two, three, and four, and Select orchestra-grades five and six, which combines string students from many of the St. Cloud area parochial schools.
The students perform at two public concerts during the year; one in December and one in May. Concerts are also given to the students at the school and the they play accompaniment at weekly Children's Masses. |
